Pakistan took command of the second Test match at Abu Dhabi  on Day three with a massive 319-run lead against a tame New Zealand, who were rattled by left-arm pacer Rahat Ali.Despite the capitulation, New Zealand found a silverlining in unearthing a gritty, polished Test batsman in young Tom Latham, who brought up his maiden Test hundred.  The southpaw kept a cool head and brought up his hundred with a solid straight drive of Zulfiqar Babar.
Rahat Ali brought his career best figures and was impeccable with his lengths. The innings folded at the closing stages of the day’s play and Pakistan had safely negotiated the few overs they had to face before day three drew to a close. Azhar Ali came in place of Ahmed Shehzad in the opening slot along with Mohammad Hafeez.
